I feel like I say this every year, but, PMI has a lot going on in 2020. In one way or another, Covid-19 has been a personal challenge for everyone but due to the industries we support, PMI has not seen much if any drop in our workload. Having said that, we have taken the required extra precautions and strengthened our cleaning protocols to combat its spread and protect both our customers and employees.
So far this year we have expanded our customer base, capabilities, hired new employees, and ramped up our new line of precision test equipment, Metrology-USA. In fact, we are extremely excited about our new Metrology 3d Automated Optical Measurement Machine and our new Universal Measurement Machines, give us a call to schedule a demonstration.
We are also looking at expanding our testing capabilities to include Environmental Stress Testing (ESS), The terms Electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and Non Destructive Inspection (NDI). These new much-needed services will pave the way for testing of Military, Medical, and Commercial manufactured devices right here in Fort Walton Beach. With PMI’s continuing growth, we will continue to explore options for a new, larger, location to house our Calibration, Testing, and Metrology-USA sales.
It was an honor to be both selected and serve as this year’s chairmen of the TeCMEN group, (https://florida-edc.org/edc-organization/tecmen). And I am excited about our upcoming namesake event, TeCMEN Industry Day, scheduled for the 27th of August (https://www.tecmenindustryday.com/). Both local and out of state manufacturers will not only showcase their capabilities in the exhibit hall but and benefit from an exciting line up of industry-focused speakers and panelists as well. PMI will once again exhibit and demonstrate our precision lines of test equipment (see the photos below).
In conclusion, as I started with, the first half of 2020 has been challenging but it has also been very rewarding. I am excited to see what the rest of this year holds for us, not only as a company but as a community. And as always, I would like to invite you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns and we want you to know how much we appreciate you, not just as our customers, but as friends. Stay safe, stay positive, do good, and we wish you continued success.
David Haines, PMI President.
