PMI Marks 20th Year with Major Expansion

We are thrilled to share that one of our largest accounts this year is contributing to 10% of our growth and expansion through Cytiva a leading manufacturing company specializing in medical equipment. We have a remarkable opportunity to support the L3/Harris Sky Warden MRO teams on the USSOCOM Armed Overwatch Program.

In addition, we have secured an exclusive deal to purchase our leased PMI Headquarters facility, establishing it as our permanent site, we are building an additional two-story facility on the same property to support new emergency vehicle testing, biomedical, and other newly added calibration capabilities. We continue to focus on expanding our overseas on-site calibration of MRO ground service equipment.

This large expansion in our 20th year of business is greatly due to the award of an IRDF grant that supports the acquisition of capital expenditures for new support equipment and the creation of jobs supporting several new positions that earn above the individual average salary within Okaloosa County.

PMI Purchases Facility, Plans Major Expansion

PMI has some exciting news, we decided our current leased facility would make a great permanent home for our operations and the offer to purchase was accepted! We have been in this facility for a year and a half now and during this time we have continually improved the facility and are excited to make it ours. We also anticipate the construction of an additional building at this site to house our ever-expanding services including Emergency Vehicle Testing a small prototype shop and administration functions. This year we have upgraded our calibration equipment to give us Primary Standards Laboratory status in the Pressure, Linear Measurement, and Mass disciplines of our laboratory. We have also upgraded our optical measurement capability to measure as many as 200 high-accuracy parts at one time, making thread and pin gauge calibrations very convenient. Additionally, we have purchased our new top-end calibration laser Surface Plate calibration system that reduces calibration time in half. Along with this growth is the need for skilled employees and this quarter we are bringing four new team members on board. How will this impact the community as we grow? We predict that we will grow to as many as 20 high-paying positions within the next 2 years and as many as 35 within 5 years! In short, PMI is well on its way to becoming the most expansive premier calibration facility in the entire South Eastern USA!

January 2025 Update

We have finally settled into our new facility! Having said that, due to new emerging business opportunities it appears we will outgrow this new facility by mid year. This is a great problem to have but will take much planning and help to fix. The aforementioned plan will at least include building several new, much larger, state-of-the-art facility that will give us room to grow. When it comes to building sites we are looking at several possibilities including moving north county, in neighboring counties, and am even scouting just across the border into Alabama. On top of this, we are also in the planning stages of expanding overseas with a brick-and-mortar calibration and testing facility to provide much-needed services in Southwest Asia. We are also adding over a dozen new sites all over the globe.

What is driving this tremendous growth, thanks for asking, it’s primarily due to our past successes and a willingness take on new opportunities to meet our customer needs. Some of our new emerging sectors are; emergency vehicle testing, medical equipment servicing, and FAA-level avionics certification of aircraft.

How will this impact the community we grow into, glad you asked that too, our prediction is that we will add as many as 20 high-paying positions within the next 4 to 5 years resulting in a total of over 35 permanent full-time positions not to mention the additional rotating staffing for overseas efforts!

I think you will agree this is all very exciting and with hard work and attention to detail we will get this right, and it must be done right. Lastly, we would be remiss if we didn’t express how thankful we are for our customers and both the partnerships and friendships we have established over the past years. Let’s look forward to a safe and prosperous 2025!
